Key Term: (For Your Notebook)

Constellations:  a group of stars forming a recognizable pattern that is traditionally named after its apparent form or identified with a mythological figure.

Assignments:

  • Download the App:  Star Walk 2 Ads+:  Night Sky Map

    • Make sure you don't purchase anything unless you want to!​

  • CONNECT THE DOTS:  Use the App to find the constellations on the downloadable document below.  Connect the dots!  If you don't have a printer, draw them in your notebook.

  • CREATE YOUR WINTER STAR MAP:  Set the time to 12:00 AM!  (This will set it to show you what is in your night sky at night)
    • Create your own star map to show what constellations are in the sky!  

      1. Include the stars (dots) and drawings of the mythical creatures.  An example can be found in the button below.​

EXTENDING YOUR ASSIGNMENT

For Extra Credit on Day 1:  At night, take pictures of some of the constellations on your map!  Send them to your teacher!
