ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS EITHER DURING OR AFTER THE MOVIE.  THIS IS YOUR REVIEW FOR THE FINAL.

Day 1:  0-35 Minutes

Questions:

  1. Why is the sky blue?

  2. Why are the plants green?

  3. What do engineers do for NASA?

  4. What is the sun made of?

  5. When they look in the mirror of their truck, they see more than they should.  Is this mirror convex or concave?

  6. When dust falls from the ceiling in the movie, you notice that there are shadows and sparkles.  How does this relate to reflection, and absorption of radiation?

  7. What telescope do you think helped them view the wormhole?

  8. Why does this telescope have an advantage in space?

  9. What type of galaxy are they in?  What is it called?

  10. When Murph yells at the entrance to NASA at night, why do we hear it?


Day 2: 35-70 Minutes

Questions:

  1. The NASA base is a giant cylinder that they’re turning into a ship, why would that be advantageous if it entered space?

  2. When they say they know there are planets that are habitable, what types of things are they looking for?

  3. How do they use spectroscopy to find the things they are looking for?

  4. As they leave Earth and travel toward the space station, their doppler shift will appear ____ from Earth and _____ from the space station.

  5. How do they know how far objects are in space?  Think Triangles.

  6. How do they navigate the universe?  Think about the golden disc.

  7. What is the next stage of our sun in the star cycle?

  10. How do we see the true Luminosity (brightness) of all the stars in the galaxy?
