Vocabulary and Notes:

Mass - The amount of matter in an object, measured in kilograms (kg)

Velocity - An object's directional speed, measured in directional distance/time (m/s)

KE - Kinetic Energy

   A. Kinetic Energy Equation

         1. KE = .5 x m x (v)²

         2. Always remember "order of operations" or "PEMDAS" when calculating.

         3. Example:  If m = 4kg and v = 10m/s,

                                                                                           KE = .5 x m x (v)²                                                                                                                                                               KE = .5 x 4kg x (10m/s)²

                                                                                           KE = 200 J

    B. Anything at any size has Kinetic Energy if it's moving.
