LAB: NEWTON'S THIRD LAW OF MOTION

NOTES: COPY IN YOUR NOTEBOOK
Newton’s 3rd law- For every action, there is an equal and yet opposite reaction.
Newton’s 3rd law states that if one object exerts a force on another object, then the second object exerts a force of equal strength in the opposite direction
Momentum- the quantity of motion of a moving body
Momentum Equation- Mass x Velocity
Law of Conservation of Momentum- the rule that in the absence of outside forces the total momentum of objects that interact does not change
The total momentum of any group of objects remains the same, or is conserved, unless outside forces act on the objects.
